PASIR GUDANG, JOHOR — ITMAX System Bhd (“ITMAX”) has secured a RM79.6 million contract from Pasir Gudang City Council, Johor, to design, install and maintain a smart command centre, a closed-circuit camera system with artificial intelligence (AI) features, and a smart traffic light system within the district.
The group’s 65%-owned subsidiary Southmax Sdn Bhd secured the letter of award (LOA) for the 15-year project. It marks ITMAX’s third smart city contract in Johor, expanding its footprint in the state.

ITMAX is expanding its R&D efforts through technology collaborations with multiple local universities. To date, the group has developed and commercialised over 21 use cases of AI features, integrated into various systems to support its clients.
